TNSWEP Activity GuidesCorrelations to Tennessee Learning ExpectationsTNSWEP activities teach concepts included in Tennessee Learning Expectations. The following matrices include lesson plans with a strong correlation to the TN Learning Expectations in the areas of science, social studies, and health. A lesson with a strong correlation emphasizes a concept sufficiently so the lesson could be used to introduce a topic. If the lesson reviews a concept it is considered a weak correlation and is not included in the chart. For example, a crossword puzzle with eight vocabulary words is considered a review and is not included in the matrix. The files below are in PDF format:

TNSWEP Services:In-service Workshops for K-12 teachers and pre-service teachers provide opportunities to participate in hands-on activities that work in the classroom. TNSWEP lesson plans and activities are correlated with Tennessee Learning Expectations. Curriculum workshops are designed for educators in the non-formal sector. Workshops include highly interactive sessions and the latest information about solid waste management. Classroom presentations are for K-12 students in public or private schools. Assistance in planning environmental education events, such as an Earth Day Celebration or an EnvironMental Fair, is available from TNSWEP consultants. |
